2016 League Playoffs

a. The playoffs for all age levels may be split into A and B divisions at the discretion of the Executive.  The hosting 
association will convene the playoffs as a double knockout tournament.  Seedings for all playoff tournaments will be as follows --

3 team -- 1st place receives bye, 2 vs 3 (game 1)
4 team -- 1 vs 3, 2 vs 4
5 team -- 1st place receives bye, 2 vs 4 (game 2), 3 vs 5 (game 1)
6 team -- 1 vs 4 (game 1), 2 vs 5 (game 3), 3 vs 6 (game 2)
7 team -- 1st place receives bye, 2 vs 5 (game 2), 3 vs 6 (game 3), 4 vs 7 (game 1)
8 team -- 1 vs 5 (game 1), 2 vs 6 (game 3), 3 vs 7 (game 2), 4 vs 8 (game 4)
9 team -- 1st place receives bye, 2 vs 6 (game 4), 4 vs 8 (game 1), 3 vs 7 (game 2), 5 vs 9 (game 3)
10 team - 1 vs 6 (game 1, 4 vs 9 (game 2), 3 vs 8 (game 3), 5 vs 10 (game 4), 2 vs 7 (game 5)

b. Local associations will be asked to host and assign the umpires.

c. Umpire fees for divisions up to and including Bantam will be calculated by the hosting association at $45 per umpire per game and reconciled via the LDBA Treasurer.

d. Umpires for Midget and older will be assigned by LDBA.

e. St. Thomas and Sarnia will be given the first right of refusal to at least one age group.

f. Host teams must supply the baseballs for the playoff tournament.  Baseballs may be billed at $8 per team per game if the hosting association so wishes.

g.   Park fees may be billed at $25 per team per game if the hosting association so wishes.

h. Seeding will be based on final league results and playoffs arranged according to the OBA printed format.  With an odd number of teams, the 1st place team receives the bye and the seeding is consistent with the pattern above.

i. Ties must be broken in all games.

j. Normal mercy rule and curfews apply.

k. Completed game card including pitching record must be turned in to the Tournament Convenor at the end of the game.

l. If a team pulls out of the playoffs less than 72 hours before the first scheduled playoff game, a fine of $200 will be levied against the association.

m. The home team in each game will be the team that finished higher in the league standings.  No coin toss is necessary.
