To foster and improve baseball in the territory designated to L.D.B.A. by the Ontario Baseball Association Inc.

To protect and promote mutual interests of the members.

To regulate and govern competition between the league members.

To institute and regulate competition for determining the L.D.B.A. representative in the provincial championship and approved tournaments.

The London and District Baseball organization is an umbrella organization consisting of its local baseball
member associations, which governs baseball in its designated territory for amateur male and female baseball players, age 4 to 21 years old.  All of the L.D.B.A. member associations are part of Baseball Ontario and participate in the sport under general rules and guidelines set out by the Baseball Ontario rules committee, supplemented by rules local to the L.D.B.A.

Skill levels range from local house league to AAA.

The L.D.B.A. does not govern or oversee Girls/Womens fastball, softball, mens, womens and Co-ed slo-pitch, Mens Senior baseball (Thames Valley league, Southwestern Senior league, London Mens Baseball league), certain local community programs, and private/independent boys baseball programs.
