LONDON HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

The London Sports Hall of Fame induction for Harvey Bailie as a Builder Legend will be held on November 3 at the Carousel Room, Western Fair from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.  Tickets are $50 and are available through www.westernfairdistrict.com



Harvey was born in Perth County in 1932 and died in London in 2007.  He coached Minor Baseball teams in Byron to 4 OBA Championships and 11 League Championships.  He was an active member of Byron Minor Baseball many years and was a founding member of the Byron Optimist Sports Complex where a diamond is named in his honour.  He was President of London District Baseball Association in 1976-77 and the 37th President of Baseball Ontario in 1981-82.  As Vice President of Baseball Canada, he represented Canada at international meetings and at major tournaments in Amsterdam, Milan, Kobe, Seoul, and Havana.  He was an official of the Canadian team at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles and the 1988 Olympics in Seoul
